$75,000 Goal

Winter, spring, summer, and fall, the Cuttyhunk STEAM Academy program provides options for study that enrich the education of students and meet school district curricular needs.  Programs offered during winter or spring breaks can be an optimal time to extend classroom instruction or build classroom community. Units of study include:  A Healthy Watershed, Aquaculture, Ocean Exploration & Marine Biology, Climate Change and Offshore Wind Energy.  Additional units of study are available and consideration would be given to further design and individualize a program to enhance a particular curricular area(s).

The Cuttyhunk STEAM Academy is committed to engaging participants in learning through STEAM, place-based, and Citizen Science programs in this innovative setting, and providing appealing, high-quality educational and enrichment programs that leverages the island’s natural resources, including neighboring islands and surrounding waters.  Cuttyhunk Island can provide such a distinct perspective to these studies - it would be difficult to replicate elsewhere.

In addition to enhancing academic pursuits, the Academy experience can also support the social and emotional learning your students may have through collaborative and cooperative activities, leadership skills, and other fellowship opportunities implemented throughout your program.
